How to delete your data

What to do if you wrote to a business that uses Aipiter or if your company is a client, and what happens next.

Updated

1. If you wrote to a business on WhatsApp or Instagram

The business you wrote to decides about your data. You can ask it in the same chat, with a clear sentence such as «I want you to delete my data».

You can also write to us at hola@aipiter.com with the subject «Data deletion», the phone number or Instagram username you wrote from and the name of the business. We pass the request on and help them carry it out.

2. If your company uses Aipiter

Write to us from a company address and tell us whether you want to delete one person’s data or close the whole account. Before closing it we hand over your data in an exportable package, unless you tell us you do not need it.

3. What we need

  • The name of the business.
  • The phone number, with its country code, or the Instagram username that you wrote from.
  • Which data you want deleted: all of it or only part.

You do not need an account or to sign in. Do not send passwords, codes or identity documents: if there is reasonable doubt about who you are, we will ask for a proportionate check. We confirm that we have received the request and then tell you the outcome, or why part of it cannot be carried out.

4. What gets deleted

Your record, your identifiers, your conversations, your bookings, your enrolments and the notes about you are deleted or anonymised, in the database and in the inbox, and also at the providers that process them. Deleting the record you see on screen is not enough.

5. What may remain

Only what a law requires to be kept, a minimal record that we dealt with the request, and anonymised data that no longer identifies you. Billing data is kept for the tax and commercial periods, with restricted access.

Backups are deleted on their own cycle. Messages still on your phone, or in systems run by other companies, are outside our control.

6. If a business removes Aipiter from its Instagram account

In Instagram’s settings, under «Apps and websites», the business can remove Aipiter’s access and ask for its data to be deleted. Meta lets us know. When access is removed, the account is disconnected from the inbox. When deletion is requested, Meta receives a code and a page where its status can be checked; we delete that account’s inbox, with its conversations, messages and files, and the contacts that only came in through it. Everything else, such as its rules and the customer records created from that account, is deleted within one month at most.

7. Removing access does not erase the history

Removing access does not erase the history on its own: for that, deletion must also be requested, from Instagram or by email. On WhatsApp, removing access disconnects the number from the inbox, and deletion is requested by email. Deleting Aipiter does not delete your WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook account either.

8. Timing and complaints

You get an answer within one month at most. If the request is complex or there are many, it can take two more months, and we let you know within the first month. If you disagree with the answer, you can complain to the supervisory authority where you live or to the Spanish one, the AEPD.

Who the controller is, what your data is used for and your other rights: all of that is detailed in the privacy policy.
