Your invoice, its record and its response in view.

What VERI*FACTU requires of your invoicing
VERI*FACTU for businesses in Spain requires checking the software version, its producer’s declaration and actual submission to the AEAT. Chained records and fiscal responses are distinct from the document and payment. The invoicing module connects documents and payments; check the requirements before using that mode. The AEAT explains the SIF modes.
When you issue an invoice
Document, record, response.
Three connected elements with different roles in one transaction.
Review and issue
Check the details, items, taxes and series. Issuing assigns the number and preserves the document.
Generate the record
Under VERI*FACTU, the record includes the fingerprint linking it to the previous one. Submission and its outcome must be checked separately.
Check the result
Following submission to the AEAT, its response allows the fiscal record to be reviewed. Payment keeps its own status and balance.
Behind a verifiable invoice.
The same document is linked to its invoicing record and keeps the history of later steps.

Each new record and annulment record has its fingerprint linked to the previous one, helping preserve issuing traceability.
The invoice number relates the customer document to that record. Corrections retain their origin and history.

Looking up the record and paying the invoice are separate processes. Check the version and the producer’s declaration before using this mode.

In the VERI*FACTU process, a record can be pending, submitted, accepted with errors or rejected. Each outcome requires checking the fiscal response and the applicable procedure.

A corrective invoice links to the invoice it corrects. A transaction that never happened is handled with its annulment and the corresponding record.
The series, number and history distinguish the original document from what happened later.

Do I buy VERI*FACTU separately?
Invoicing is an additional module on top of your base; pricing explains plans and conditions. Before using VERI*FACTU, check the version’s producer declaration and actual submission to the AEAT.
What if a record is pending or rejected?
Under VERI*FACTU, check the AEAT response and the applicable correction or resubmission procedure. Keep the history; a pending or rejected record needs attention and does not establish fiscal acceptance.
Can I change an issued invoice?
Review a draft before issuing. After that, the appropriate correction keeps its link to the original. The original and its traceability are preserved.
Who is responsible for the software’s compliance?
The producer must issue a responsible declaration identifying the system and its version. Before subscribing, review the declaration for the version you will use. The AEAT explains this responsibility.
When is it required and who is covered?
It depends on scope and taxpayer type. The VERI*FACTU guide sets out dates and current sources, including SII, regional tax authorities and other cases to review with your accountant. The scope described here is Spain.
Does submitting the record mean the invoice is paid?
The tax record and payment are separate processes. The invoice keeps its submission status and balance. Sending a payment link does not establish that payment was received either.
Does it replace tax returns or every kind of e-invoicing?
Your accountant continues to review and file the relevant returns. VERI*FACTU concerns invoicing records; business-to-business electronic invoicing is a separate obligation, explained in the guide.
